Job Summary

The Senior Data Analyst will manage and lead the analysis and evaluation of the Office of Community Relations’ community programs, including Healthier Together.  Healthier Together is a 5-year initiative to improve the health of children in West Philadelphia by focusing on behavioral health, asthma, food insecurity, and poverty. This role reports to the Senior Director of Community Engagement in the Office of Community Relations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Data management and analytics
    • Work with the project team to develop data collection forms and protocols
    • Create and maintain databases (e.g., REDCap) by collecting large datasets from internal and external sources
    • Performs quality checks on data to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to analysis
    • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques
    • Develop regular reports with data visualizations and metrics that can be analyzed for trends, patterns, and gaps

 

  • Program evaluation and improvement
    • Help develop and refine metrics for overall Healthier Together program and four individual pillars -- Asthma, Behavioral Health / Violence Prevention, Food Insecurity, and Economic Inclusion & Mobility
    • Prepare data dashboards and appropriate visualizations for monthly evaluation meetings with 4 pillars
    • Facilitate monthly evaluation meetings by focusing leadership conversation and supporting data-driven decision making
    • Participate in quality improvement discussions during monthly evaluations meetings
    • Transform and format data sets as needed to accommodate changes in program design

 

  • Communication
    • Present outcomes data, metrics, and visualizations at quarterly Oversight Committee meetings
    • Provide necessary data, metrics, and visualizations to support promotion of Healthier Together via website, presentations, marketing materials, and conferences to donors, philanthropy, payors, community, and partners

 

  • Collaboration
    • Direct work efforts of Research/Resource Assistant and/or Intern for database creation and maintenance
    • Collaborate closely with Healthier Together and PolicyLab leaders for program design, development, and evaluation
    • Contribute to grant proposal development
    • Collaborate with PolicyLab for qualitative research and research publications
    • Performs other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree

 

Required Experience:

Three (3) years of experience in analytics or business intelligence

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education:

Master’s degree in public health, health services research, epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, quantitative science, or related discipline

 

Preferred Experience:                                                                              

Two (2) years of experience in analytics or business intelligence

Additional Technical Requirements
  • Basic understanding of quality improvement and program evaluation methods preferred.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in healthcare, public health, or community health preferred.
  • Experience in at least one computer programming language or analytical programming language (R, Python, SAS, Stata, etc)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc)
  • Knowledge of relational database structures
  • Expertise with using data in a healthcare, public health, or community health setting
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Power Point, and Excel is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and well organized, with the ability to meet frequent and changing deadlines
  • Excellent communication (oral and writing) skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
  • Strategic thinker
