IS Systems Analyst II - Patient Experience / Epic MyChart

Job Summary


The Emerging Technology & Transformation team  implements, supports, and partners in the optimization of:
 
• EpicCare Link, MyChart and MyChart Bedside
• the telehealth platform (in close partnership with clinical champions and leaders)
• Online scheduling (in close partnership with other IS teams and clinical/operational leaders)

 

The charter of the team includes solving challenges for stakeholders and improving the patient/family and staff experience by extending the functionality of Epic (in partnership with software developers) and/or evaluating new technology (partnering with vendors) for quick proofs-of-concept for determination of scaling through the enterprise. 

 

• Examples of this work include chatbots, patient reported outcome (PRO) tools, robotic process automation (RPA), etc. 
• The team strives to understand challenges in terms of metrics and how the team’s work may drive improvement in those metrics.

 

The work of this team relies on extensive partnerships throughout the organization as well as with other health systems. It also includes understanding how today’s healthcare consumers expect to interact with their medical home, similar to the way the interact with other organizations. 

Job Responsibilities

  1. Performs operational support, maintenance and system configuration as defined in departmental operating procedures.
  2. Identifies, analyzes and resolves data and system issues of intermediate complexity.
  3. Works independently in support of team initiatives.
  4. Gathers requirements, develops specifications prepares documentation.  
  5. Develops, validates and executes comprehensive test plans.
  6. Performs 24/7 on call support if applicable.
  7. Communicates effectively with clients and colleagues.  
  8. May be required to travel to/from and work in the various CHOP locations, including patient care areas.
  9. May be required to travel for mandatory certifications.
  10. May be designated a “Health Care Worker” 
  11. Understand and comply with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures and standards.
  12. Support the integration of information security in the development, design, and implementation of Hospital Technology Resources that process, transmit, or store CHOP information.
  13. Support all compliance activities related to state, federal regulatory requirements, healthcare accreditation standards, and all other applicable regulations that govern the use and disclosure of patient, financial, or other confidential information.

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelors Degree

 

Required Experience:                                                                                     

  • One (1) year of experience working within a healthcare environment or within Information Systems. 

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: Degree’s with a field of study in Computer Science, IS, Business, or Healthcare


Preferred Experience:                                                                                            

  • Two (2) or more years of experience working within a healthcare environment and within Information Systems.

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Intermediate critical thinking, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office products.

  • Basic ability to facilitate meetings

  • Basic documentation skills
