Residency and Fellowship

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) offers four residency training options, all of which are accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education.

  1. General Pediatrics (three years)
  2. General Pediatrics and Child Neurology (five years)
  3. General Pediatrics and Genetics (four years)
  4. Internal Medicine-General Pediatrics (four years).

The broad range of clinical opportunities are complemented by fundamental and optional advanced training in various areas including Child Advocacy, Medical Education, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, Health Equity, Research, Global Health, and Clinical Informatics. Our program aims to provide a strong foundation in Pediatrics as well as individualized training that optimizes our graduates’ preparation for life after residency. CHOP offers pediatric fellowship opportunities in most medical and surgical subspecialty areas.
