About the Division CHOP’s Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine is a leader in pediatric anesthesiology and the care of children with life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Our team manages a full range of high acuity cases, with 35,000 to 40,000 procedures annually.

Interdisciplinary Care Team Model

In addition to practicing alongside attending physicians and residents from multiple programs, CHOP anesthesiologists work with:
60 faculty physicians
30 certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs)
11 pediatric anesthesiology fellows in our ACGME-accredited program
Requirements
  • Expertise in Anesthesiology with a focus on pediatrics
  • M.D. (or equivalent)
  • ABA certification with subspecialty certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pennsylvania licensure
Clinical Responsibilities May include direct patient care and medical direction in the Operating Rooms and other anesthetizing locations. The practice locations include CHOP's Philadelphia and King of Prussia campuses.
Teaching Responsibilities May include participating in our formal didactic lecture program as well as informally teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in the Operating Rooms.
