Job Summary

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) implemented Workday HCM, FIN and SCM modules in January 2020. The Workday HCM Business Analyst will work closely with business partners, developers and cross functional teams to identify gaps and enhancement opportunities to mature the Workday implementation and related business systems comprising the ERP and Enterprise systems portfolio. The Workday HCM BA develops requirements to support application configuration, system interfaces, as well as incident resolution. A preferred candidate will have experience implementing and/or managing Workday with Human Resources and Payroll functional expertise. Workday HCM certification is preferred. The analyst position works with a team of analysts to provide tier two support for their customer areas and may perform advanced system configuration changes and maintenance to support the lifecycle of the application. The analyst recommends, develops and implements effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes. The Workday HCM BA works closely with HRIS group of internal customers and other departments as needed. The ERP and Enterprise applications team supports a broad base of customer areas and the role engages on improvements and projects. CHOP is currently working on a roadmap to implement talent management (Performance management, advanced compensation, recruiting and learning). While the role is primary HCM focused, experience in Finance (FIN) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a plus. Capable at leading vendor selection efforts (RFP) including requirements gathering scoring and vendor selection. Actively participates with clients (internal and external), to elicit, analyze and document business and functional requirements through requirements workshops, interviews or meeting sessions with Project Sponsors, SMEs and other Stakeholders to diagnose and resolve complex technical, management, and business issues. Identify and document business and technical requirement. Experienced working in Agile environment as improvements are delivered in two week sprint cycle.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Performs routine operational support, maintenance and system configuration as defined in departmental operating procedures.

  2. Identifies, analyzes and resolves data and complex workflow solutions and issues of intermediate complexity. Demonstrates ability to diagnose and resolve technical, management, and business issues and to recommend areas for process improvement or innovation.

  3. Adept at working on multiple concurrent projects with nominal supervision, capable of educating, coaching, and overseeing the activities of less experienced staff and other team members.

  4. Attends specific client-based meetings and directs the communication of client needs to the appropriate support/service groups.

  5. Actively participates with clients, internal and external, to elicit, analyze and document business and functional requirements through requirements workshops, interviews or meeting sessions with Project Sponsors, SMEs and other Stakeholders to diagnose and resolve complex technical, management, and business issues.Identify and document business and technical requirements using standard templates

  6. Participates in the development, validation and execution of comprehensive test plans.

  7. Monitors effectiveness of current business practices and identifies areas for improvement/innovation. Has exceptional skills and expertise of business processes, and IT systems.Is an expert on business unit operations and business need for IT solutions

  8. Performs 24/7 on call support if applicable.

  9. Exhibits strong facilitation and communication skills and interacts with all hospital medical, technical and business personnel.

  10. May be required to travel to/from and work in the various CHOP locations, including patient care areas.

  11. May be required to travel for mandatory certifications.

  12. May be designated a “Health Care Worker”

The team is current working 100% remotely and project that in the future they will transition to a 80% remote work / 20% on site model.

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelors Degree

 

Required Experience:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
Two (2) years of experience working within a healthcare environment or within Information Systems.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education:  Degree’s with a field of study in Computer Science, IS, Business, or Healthcare


Preferred Experience:                                                                                                                     
Three (3) or more years of experience working within a healthcare environment or within Information Systems.

  • Ability to facilitate meetings with senior leaders and cross functional groups

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.

  • Knowledge of Business Analyst Best practices
