Job Summary

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) implemented Workday HCM, FIN and SCM modules in January 2020. The Workday Business Analyst will work closely with business partners, developers and cross functional teams to identify gaps and enhancement opportunities to mature the Workday implementation and related business systems comprising the ERP and Enterprise systems portfolio.

 

The Workday BA develops requirements to support application configuration, system interfaces, as well as incident resolution. A preferred candidate will have experience implementing and/or managing Workday with Human Resources, Finance or Payroll functional expertise. Workday pro certification is preferred. The analyst position works with a team of analysts to provide tier two support for their customer areas and may perform advanced system configurations and maintenance to support the lifecycle of the application. The analyst recommends, develops and implements effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes. The Workday BA works closely with HRIS,  Finance and Supply Chain internal customers and other departments as needed. The ERP and Enterprise applications team supports a broad base of customer areas and the role engages on improvements and projects. CHOP is currently working on a roadmap to implement talent management (recruiting and learning). While the role is primary HCM focused, experience in Finance (FIN) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a plus. Capable at leading vendor selection efforts (RFP) including requirements gathering scoring and vendor selection. Actively participates with clients (internal and external), to elicit, analyze and document business and functional requirements through requirements workshops, interviews or meeting sessions with Project Sponsors, SMEs and other Stakeholders to diagnose and resolve complex technical, management, and business issues. Identify and document business and technical requirement. Experienced working in Agile environment as improvements are delivered in two-week sprint cycle. Workday integration experience is strongly preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs routine operational support, maintenance and system configuration as defined in departmental operating procedures.
  • Identifies, analyzes and resolves data and system issues of intermediate complexity. Demonstrates ability to diagnose and resolve technical, management, and business issues and to recommend areas for process improvement or innovation.  
  • Exhibits the ability to work on concurrent projects and to work with a reasonable degree of autonomy in support of team initiatives.
  • Attends specific client-based meetings and directs the communication of client needs to the appropriate support/service groups.
  • Actively participates with clients, internal and external, to elicit, analyze and document business and functional requirements through requirements workshops, interviews or meeting sessions with Project Sponsors, SMEs and other Stakeholders to diagnose and resolve complex technical, management, and business issues.  Identify and document business and technical requirements using standard templates
  • Participates in the development, validation and execution of comprehensive test plans.
  • Monitors effectiveness of current business practices and identifies areas for improvement/innovation.
  • Performs 24/7 on call support if applicable.
  • Communicates effectively with clients and colleagues.  
  • May be required to travel to/from and work in the various CHOP locations, including patient care areas.
  • May be required to travel for mandatory certifications.
  • May be designated a “Health Care Worker”

The department works 80% remotely, 20% on site in our Philadelphia offices on an as-needed basis.  

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelors Degree


Required Experience: One (1) year of experience working within a healthcare environment or within Information Systems.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree with a field of study in Computer Science, IS, Business, or Healthcare


Preferred Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience working within a healthcare environment or within Information Systems.
