Job Summary

Under the direction of the Technical Manager, supervises the day-to-day operations for the (I.R.) Interventional Radiology team.  Oversees diagnostic processes and ensures the timeliness of order response, exam completion, and results reporting.

Job Responsibilities
  • Projects staffing workload requirements for technical area.
  • Assists in the hiring, evaluation, scheduling and disciplining of all personnel as necessary. Oversees the orientation of new employees to include: equipment, department and hospital policies, protocols and procedures.
  • Monitors division expenditures to stay within budgetary constraints.
  • Approves and monitors patient scheduling to insure patient flow and safety.
  • Directs activities of technical staff to maintain integrity and efficiency of the Radiology Information System (IDXrad).
  • Inventories, orders and receives division supplies to maintain operations.
  • Develops, implements, and enforces hospital and department policies and procedures.
  • Performs clinical work as dictated by patient volumes and staffing levels. (See DR Staff Technologist Job Description).
  • Leadership on call duties.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations
Successful completion of the examination given by The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).
Required Education and Experience

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED


Required Experience: Five (5) years of diagnostic radiology experience.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: Bachelors degree

Preferred Experience: Three (3) years of managerial or supervisory experience

Additional Technical Requirements
  • Knowledge of all forms of diagnostic imaging
  • Knowledge of film processing equipment
  • Knowledge of Radiology Information System
  • Provides Family-centered Care
  • Integrates knowledge and assessment of child and family (Age-Specific Competency)
