Job Summary

We have a multidisciplinary service dedicated to providing novel and rational treatment options to children with relapsed or refractory high-risk neuroblastoma. Key to the success of this program is the integration of the laboratory science, clinical research and clinical care. We are looking for an experienced laboratory technician with a broad background in predominantly in vivo techniques for continued critical development of patient-derived xenografts and testing of new agents.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs research procedures on experimental samples with minimal supervision
  • Formulates and performs complex lab experiments and analyzes & reports the data
  • Performs tasks that require knowledge of advanced techniques and equipment
  • Performs advanced calculations and maintains appropriate log and lab notebooks
  • Assists with planning specific research protocols and procedures
  • Assists in development & troubleshooting of new techniques and ideas
  • May be required to modify scientific methods and protocols (in conjunction with PI)
  • Checks others results for completeness and accuracy
  • May be responsible for training and mentoring new staff
  • Assists in the preparing of grants journal articles, poster and oral presentations
  • May perform routine and non-routine tests / experiments as needed
Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, 12 - 24 months relevant laboratory experience beyond classroom / internship(s) experience preferred or
• Associate’s degree, 3+ years relevant laboratory experience beyond classroom / internship(s) experience required
 

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree

 

Preferred Experience: Two (2) years of laboratory experience
