Job Summary

Ideal candidate would have strong knowledge in molecular & cellular techniques especially flow cytometry and FACS sorting, cell culture techniques, DNA/RNA isolation, ELISA, PCR, & Western Blot.  The candidate should also be familiar with working with animal models, particularly mouse models. The candidate will also have significant interactions with junior research fellows and students and thus should enjoy teaching molecular techniques and experimental design to postgraduate, MD, PhD, and MD/PhD students.



Job Responsibilities

  • Performs lab tests which require the analysis of results and interpretation of methods
  • Performs research procedures on experimental samples as agreed with PI
  • Plans and develops specific research protocols and procedures
  • Develops & troubleshooting new techniques and ideas
  • Composes methods and sets-up protocols accurately under the direction of the program director or senior scientist, modifies methods and protocols when required
  • Formulates and performs complex lab experiments and analyzes & reports the data
  • Presents & discusses work at weekly lab meetings
  • Prepares laboratory reagents and monitors and maintains inventory
  • Performs calculations and maintains appropriate log books and lab notebooks
  • Maintains laboratory equipment, safety procedures and compliance records
  • Researches journal, white papers and other scientific publications for pertinent information
  • Prepares data for publication or presentation at national/international symposia
  • May be called upon to present at national symposia
  • Supervises junior members of laboratory.

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of scientifically relevant experience or Master’s degree with 1+ years of scientifically relevant experience

Additional Technical Requirements

Proficient in various research and/or analytical techniques
