Job Summary

The Department is seeking an early to mid-career psychologist who will provide ambulatory patient care primarily in the Anxiety Behaviors Clinic (ABC) through the Outpatient Psychiatry Program.  The ideal candidate will have extensive training in cognitive-behavioral therapy for child and adolescent anxiety disorders, as well as experience in group intervention approaches, diagnostic assessment of child and adolescent behavioral health conditions, and working with comorbid conditions. In addition, the candidate will be able to provide treatment services to children with a range of conditions (in addition to anxiety disorders), such as disruptive behavior and mood disorders.

Job Responsibilities

The Department is seeking an early to mid-career psychologist who will provide ambulatory patient care primarily in the Anxiety Behaviors Clinic (ABC) through the Outpatient Psychiatry Program.  The ideal candidate will have extensive training in cognitive-behavioral therapy for child and adolescent anxiety disorders, as well as experience in group intervention approaches, diagnostic assessment of child and adolescent behavioral health conditions, and working with comorbid conditions. In addition, the candidate will be able to provide treatment services to children with a range of conditions (in addition to anxiety disorders), such as disruptive behavior and mood disorders.

The psychologist will work with children and youth between the ages of 4 and 18 years. Active participation in the clinical training of psychology interns and child psychiatry fellows is encouraged. Faculty appointment in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania may be available for suitable candidates.

Applicants must be licensed or license-eligible in Pennsylvania; additional licensure in New Jersey is preferred. Doctoral training in clinical child and adolescent psychology or school psychology is strongly preferred.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

PA licensure as psychologist

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA)

Required Experience:

  • Two or more years as a licensed clinical psychologist
  • APA or CPA accredited internship training
  • Completed post-doctoral training in child and adolescent focused psychology

PA licensure as psychologist at time of hire

Knowledge of psychological intervention approaches, with preference given to applicants experienced with evidence-based intervention approaches for anxiety disorders.
 

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

NJ licensure as a psychologist preferred
