Job Summary

The Program Coordinator I is responsible for oversight and management of administrative and operations items associated with the Division of Oncology. This position will work closely with clinical and research faculty, including several Section Chiefs. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations of this group under limited supervision. It is important that this program coordinator work closely with key stakeholders from both inside and outside the institution to ensure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.


This candidate will be the centralized resource for planning, meeting and seminar organization, credentialing, travel, Concur, purchase requisitions, and check requests for this group of physicians. He/She will be the primary person responsible for calendar organization and updates for these physicians. Articulate and professional communication skills (both written and spoken) are essential as this position is front facing. Excellent communication skills are a must.


Job Responsibilities

Coordinate all administrative aspects for this cohort of clinical and research faculty. Serve as the primary liaison to internal and external stakeholders. Assist in the preparation of financial and research related applications and reports in a timely manner. Assist with manuscript preparation and grant submissions.



Provide administrative support for clinical and research faculty. Tasks include, but are not limited to: coordinating travel, calendar management, CV and biosketch management, student on-boarding, and preparing program presentations and reports.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Life Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum of two years' experience in conducting research trials
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and interact with researchers, community members, and CHOP staff

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

  • Masters degree.

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Previous clinical research experience.  Successful performance in a high-intensity work environment.

  • Excellent problem identification and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters and materials. 
  • Ability to understand complex protocols
  • Knowledge of IRB issues and guidelines, elements of informed consent, FDA codes and Regulatory Issues.
