Job Summary

This role provides advanced leadership, financial and operational management for large size / scope Physician Practice areas.


Major responsibilities include oversight and management of operational aspects of a surgical practice, management of staff, implementation of policies and procedures and financial oversight including billing and collections. 


Dual reporting structure through Division Chief and Executive Director via the Director of Operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversees daily operations of the Physician Practice areas, including but not limited to managing patient flow, addressing patient complaints, creating schedules, managing OR utilization and block time, processing/approving orders, expense reimbursements, and payroll.
  • Management of staff, including but not limited to recruitment, completing annual evaluations, managing human resource issues, hosting team meetings, mentoring staff and providing career development opportunities and providing leadership during times of change.
  • Financial management including advanced budget preparation/oversight, review of monthly reports and management of special purpose funds and research funds.  Create business plans and strategic plans.
  • Revenue Cycle oversight including review of charge lag, monitoring charges and payments for billing accuracy and compliance, researching rejections
  • Support Physician Practice area research needs.
  • Onboard new physicians and work with existing physicians to ensure they meet divisional expectations around op notes, letters to referring MD’s etc.
  • Project work including participating on hospital committees, developing improvement plans, patient satisfaction work, marketing of programs, etc.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Required Experience:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Seven (7) years related experience in a healthcare environment
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Five (5) years of management or supervisory experience
Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Healthcare Management or Business


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Preferred Experience:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Nine (9) years related experience in a healthcare environment.  
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Seven (7) years of management or supervisory experience
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Significant leadership experience
Additional Technical Requirements
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data. 
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving planning, organizing and decision making. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with clinical and administrative staff, patients and the public. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical coding, compliance and health insurances as well as billing, reimbursement requirements and government regulations as related to healthcare organizations.
