Job Summary

The Medical Equipment Coordinator is a member of the Capital & Services Sourcing Team (within the Contracting & Procurement department of Supply Chain), which is responsible for supporting the contracting and sourcing requirements of the entire organization.  This position reports to the Strategic Sourcing Manager for Capital & Services.


The Medical Equipment Coordinator serves as a medical equipment coordinator planning for construction projects. Core required skills include: equipment planning, project management, analytical skills, and vendor/stakeholder relationship management.

Job Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive capital equipment list development using CHOP standards, facilitating equipment planning meetings, finalizing specifications with stakeholders.
  • Proactively ensures equipment standards are followed from design through project go-live.
  • Develops and manages both medical and non-medical equipment budgets for various construction projects.
  • Successfully manage simultaneous projects with short timelines and challenging logistics.
  • Obtain and coordinate technical data for equipment by interacting directly with architects, designers and project managers.
  • Monitors vendor performance and end-user satisfaction throughout the term of the project. 
  • Partners with suppliers and stakeholders to establish and maintain positive business relationships.
  • Validates and documents achieved savings for budgetary purposes.
  • Works collaboratively with all levels of Supply Chain staff.
  • Reports progress on a monthly or as requested basis.



Contracting / Supply Chain

  • Experience in equipment planning and managing multiple capital construction projects.
  • Required to work with the planning, budgeting, acquisition and installation areas and develop the equipment list.
  • Acts as a liaison to assist stakeholders reach business objectives.


Analytical Skills

  • Ability to analyze and interpret qualitative data.
  • Keen ability to compile data and evaluate data and improve processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, with different deadlines, simultaneously.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Quick learner, Inquisitive and motivated individual.



  • Experience in managing multiple capital construction projects.
  • Skilled problem solver.
  • Mature leadership skills; can lead inter-department teams and external stakeholder project teams.
  • Robust understanding of project management and process improvement practices.
  • Experience working in a healthcare provider environment or with medical products.
  • Must be detail, action, and results oriented.  Must demonstrate mature judgment in managing responsibilities.
Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience: Five (5) years of relevant experience

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: Master’s Degree

Preferred Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience

Additional Technical Requirements


2 or more years of applicable experience in a Construction/Healthcare environment managing multi-faceted tasks.

Assists in procurement activities, coordinates delivery/installation of medical equipment

Coordinate with vendor(s) to ensure on-time delivery of purchased equipment

Ensure the resolution of any equipment installation issues

Own the master data set-up –track full procurement cycle of equipment list

Assists in procurement activities, coordinates delivery/installation of medical equipment
