Job Summary

This role assists and works directly with physicians and other health professionals in the outpatient clinics. 


This role also will assist patient preparation during clinic visits, enter electronic medical record data, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care including escorting patients from waiting area to exam rooms, obtaining patient height, weight and vitals,
  • Document patient imaging and electronic medical record information.
  • Monitor day to day activities of clinic.
  • Assist other staff to resolve patient/family, provider and staff clinic flow issues. 
  • Maintain patient exam rooms including clean rooms, remove instruments or materials, replace exam table paper and restock room supplies as needed.
  • Transports cultures to the lab and specimens to pathology.
  • Assist in minor surgical procedures including maintaining sterilization.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Certification as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or obtained within three (3) months of placement into position

Certification in CPR within 90 days of placement into position

Required Education and Experience

Required Education:

  • High School diploma / GED.
  • Graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant Program


Required Experience: One (1) year of medical assistant experience

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Experience: Two (2) years of medical assistant experience in pediatrics

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to maintain composure in high stress situations.
