Job Summary

Responsible for design projects including graphics, Web pages and enhanced multimedia for The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's internal and external Web sites. 
Develop visual elements, wireframes, layouts and designs consistent with brand standards. 
Collaborate with editorial and technical teams to produce effective, professional Web communications that contribute to the Ideal Patient Experience and/or Ideal Employee Experience. 
Assist senior Web designer in creating and incorporating development standards to assure consistency and quality. 

Ensure customer satisfaction, good workflow and excellent communication among team members and customers.

Job Responsibilities

This role will develop and deploy video, podcasts and online education for clinicians and other healthcare providers.

This role will manage the CloudCME platform and will work with CME staff, CHOP web team and clinical faculty to create visually appealing design solutions for the Cloud. In addition, the Designer will develop design proposals and presentations to effectively market CME Education at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

The role will work with multiple constituencies on the web, education and learning services to collaborate on Continuing Medical Education.

1.Job Responsibilities
•Determine goals, graphic strategies, web design approach, architecture and navigation plan in consultation with Web Site Manager, Technical Developers, Art Director, Multimedia Specialist, clients and others as identified.
•Meets regularly with Web Site Manager and Technical Developers to review existing sites and map new areas of content and design.
•Attends client meetings when necessary to discuss design, navigation, and user interface issues; prepares solutions and presentations.
•Designs, codes, and presents more high-level, more specialized sites.
•Together with other team members, identifies freelance/vendor design resources, provides specifications for outsourced projects, supplies standards and templates, obtains bids, and manages deadlines and tracking.
•Provides web design and development support for all strategic marketing partnerships and alliances
•Keeps pace with computer and web trends and technology.
•Ability to communicate specifications clearly and intelligibly in verbal and written form.
•Ability to make oral presentation to colleagues, clients and organizational administration using prescribed presentational tools.
•Ability to clearly articulate problems, issues and potential solutions to team members, clients and organizational administration.

Required Education and Experience

BA or BFA in graphic design from an accredited college or art school.

Minimum four (4) years work experience in Web design. Experience in agency or corporate setting with strong portfolio of work demonstrating excellent design and visual communication skills. 

Additional Technical Requirements

Thorough knowledge of graphic, Web and multimedia design principles and usability theory. Print design and production experience a plus. Able and willing to learn new skills and protocols.
Proficient in HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat, QuarkXPress, PowerPoint and MS Office products. Experience with ColdFusion a plus. Comfortable with Mac and Windows environments.
Must be organized, thorough, attentive to detail and deadline oriented. Able to follow standard operating procedures, but be proactive in problem solving. Must have good time-management skills.
Must be highly motivated, enthusiastic, diplomatic and able to work effectively with staff across the organization. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Able to work independently with minimal guidance and exercise good judgment, but also able to work as part of a team.
