Job Summary

1. Opportunities to gain corporate experience by being involved in projects, staff meetings, and corporate events.
2. Training on the appropriate tools, languages, and documentation required.
3. Exposure to a number of advanced technologies, such as ERP systems, Epic, and wireless networking in a multi platform environment.
4. The assignment is expected to last 3-6 months, depending on the business need and the student’s school schedule. 
5. Works under direct supervision in support of team initiatives.


This is for our 2019 Spring/Summer Information Service Co-op program.  

Required Education and Experience

An IS Graduate Co-op Student: 
1. Must be currently attending a college or university pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or Business degree or graduated within a year.  HS diploma/GED required.
2. Minimum GPA of 3.0 at the start of the co-op.
3. Ability to work with individuals at all levels within the organization. 
4. Demonstrates excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills.
5. Effectively working with others.
6. Maintain an identifiable/professional attire at all times, including using identification cards 
7. The ability to demonstrate flexibility and interest in doing a variety of tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
8. All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.

Additional Technical Requirements

1. Understand and comply with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures and standards.
2. Support the integration of information security in the development, design, and implementation of Hospital Technology Resources that process, transmit, or store CHOP information.
3. Support all compliance activities related to state, federal regulatory requirements, healthcare accreditation standards, and all other applicable regulations that govern the use and disclosure of patient, financial, or other confidential information.
