Job Summary

An IS Developer I is an entry level position level creating solutions to business problems by designing, testing, and programming software applications. This role will work under direct supervision of senior developers to translate requirements into workable programming code. 

Job Responsibilities

  1. Performs routine operational support, maintenance and system configuration as defined in departmental operating procedures.

  2. Identifies, analyzes and resolves data and system issues of low complexity. Demonstrates ability to diagnose and resolve technical, management, and business issues and to recommend areas for process improvement or innovation.

  3. Works under direct supervision in support of team initiatives.

  4. Attends specific client-based meetings and directs the communication of client needs to the appropriate support/service groups.

  5. Actively participates with clients, internal and external, to identify and document business and technical requirements using standard templates.

  6. Participates in the development, validation and execution of test plans.

  7. Performs 24/7 on call support if applicable.

  8. Communicates effectively with clients and colleagues.

  9. May be required to travel to/from and work in the various CHOP locations, including patient care areas.

  10. May be required to travel for mandatory certifications.

  11. May be designated a “Health Care Worker”

Required Education and Experience

  • Certifications commensurate with job role

Required Education: Bachelors of/in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent work experience


Required Experience: Relevant application and integration development experience (0-1 years)

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Experience: Relevant experience (0-1 years) within a healthcare environment

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Some combination of experience with one or more of the following:  C, C#, C++, JavaScript, Android, IOS, SQL, mobile

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft or other relevant office based products

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.

  • Basic proficiency in programming languages, web services, APIs, web and mobile development, application domain knowledge, and integration technologies commensurate with job role.
