Req ID: 25621

Shift: Days

Employment Status: AF - Active - Regular - Full Time

Job Summary

The Cancer Predisposition Program at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is part of the Division of Oncology, which is staffed by internationally recognized pediatric oncologists and teams with expertise in every type of pediatric cancer, from the most common to the most rare.

The Cancer Predisposition Program  at CHOP provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, follow-up care and genetic counseling for both inpatients and outpatients. Patients are seen by an oncologist and a genetic counselor. Individuals with specific types of tumors, multiple primary tumors, certain physical features, or a significant family history of cancer are referred for evaluation and diagnosis of a genetic syndrome.

First-time evaluations take place in the outpatient Cancer Predisposition Clinic. Patients with a known diagnosis are also followed by the Cancer Predisposition Program to coordinate cancer surveillance and to provide families with updated information regarding their condition. In addition to the general Cancer Predisposition Clinic, we have a dedicated, multidisciplinary GI Predisposition Clinic. We also work closely with other programs that manage patients with Neurofibromatosis and Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes. Finally, we coordinate multidisciplinary care with Genetics, Endocrinology, Neurology, Dermatology, Orthopedic Surgery and other disciplines.
