Job Summary

The Project Management Team Leader/Manager is responsible for the management of all assigned capital building projects including new construction and renovations. The Project Management Team Leader/Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all project management services related to assigned capital projects and regulatory compliance programs. The Project Management Team Leader/Manager oversees and manages the work of the assigned Project Management Group on all CHOP projects including highly complex major capital and multiple, concurrent projects of various sizes.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Independently responsible for the overall management of the planning, design, construction, and occupancy phases of major capital and/or multiple, concurrent large projects of high complexity to meet CHOP Project goals and objectives.
  • Develops and insures an adequate organizational structure to maintain project management services and meet organizational demands. Develops cost estimates/budgets; tracks and manages project costs for all projects. In addition to the responsibilities of the Senior Project Managers.
  • Responsible for supervision of project managers and external consultants in all phases of the project. Monitors and coordinates the activities of all Consultants and contractors on assigned projects; including highly complex major capital projects and multiple, concurrent projects of various sizes. Directs project management staff to meet CHOP capital project goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the supervision of the Project Management Group managing the construction phase of all assigned projects. Monitors and coordinates the activities of all Construction Managers, General Contractors, and Sub-Contractors.
  • Responsible for direction and supervision of the Project Management Group in developing and managing the overall project schedule.
  • Oversees and manages all work of the assigned Project Management Group. Solicits input, makes decisions establishes policies and procedures and recommendations to the Project Management Group that are recognized as authoritative and have a far reaching impact on project management and related activities at CHOP.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelors in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or Architecture.

 

Required Experience: Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ progressive experience in the design/management of large, highly complex Healthcare, Research or similar renovation/construction projects.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Licenses/certificates/registrations: Licensed Professional Engineer, Registered Architect or equivalent related experience.

Additional Technical Requirements

All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.
