Job Summary

A System Analyst Supervisor is a senior level position in the System Analyst job family.  A person in this position will be required to work with and across teams of analysts to provide advanced level support for their customers. Performs advanced system configuration changes and maintenance to support the lifecycle of the application. Recommends design enhancements and changes for complex systems.  Required to manage other staff and lead teams. Subject Matter Expert in their domain.  The team is responsible for Epic Inpatient.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Performs operational support, maintenance and system configuration as defined in departmental operating procedures and recommends operational and process improvements.
  2. Identifies, analyzes and resolves data and system issues of advanced complexity.
  3. Works independently and leads teams in support of team initiatives and projects; manages cross functional work teams.
  4. Demonstrates advanced proficiency in gathering requirements, developing specifications, preparing and reviewing documentation.  
  5. Develops, validates and executes comprehensive test plans.
  6. Performs 24/7 on call support if applicable.
  7. Communicates effectively, negotiates changes, and assists in prioritization of tasks with clients, vendors, colleagues, and senior leadership.
  8. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert in their area of application or domain.
  9. Educates and coaches other team members; provides quality reviews of other work products such as system documentation and requirements.
  10. Directly supervises team members, delegates, coach’s staff and enforces compliance with department and hospital policies and procedures and provides feedback to staff and management.
  11. May be required to travel to/from and work in the various CHOP locations, including patient care areas.
  12. May be required to travel for mandatory certifications.
  13. May be designated a “Health Care Worker”
  14. May be required to represent I.S. and/or present to various Hospital Clinical and/or Operations committees.

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelors Degree


Required Experience:                                                                                                                     

  • Five (5) years of experience working within a healthcare environment or within Information Systems. 

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: Degree’s with a field of study in Computer Science, IS, Business, or Healthcare

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills including conflict resolution.

  • Advanced critical thinking, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).

  • Ability to facilitate meetings with senior leaders and cross functional groups

  • Advanced documentation skills

  • Mentoring and teaching of staff

  • Ability to lead and manage others
