Job Summary

This position is responsible for the conceptual development and execution of all marketing and communications materials produced by and for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute. This position is responsible, in collaboration with PR/Marketing, for establishing and executing the brand identity, positioning and creative strategy for the institution and its components.

Job Responsibilities

Design, direct and execute creative strategy in support of marketing plans developed at both the enterprise and research level.

Implement institutional brand architecture, including visual identity, nomenclature and brand guidelines for all elements of the enterprise/research.

Direct creative development of all institutional marketing materials, including advertising (print, podcast, online), collateral materials, videos, and all internal and external research publications – using internal and external resources strategically and cost-effectively.

Identify, evaluate, engage and maintain relationships with outside creative resources, including advertising agencies, production companies, photographers, freelance writers, producers and art directors, fulfillment firms and consultants.

Supervise internal creative team for the Research Institute, Web/Content/Design teams creative activities, and external resources to ensure that all work is strategically sound, consistent, on time and on budget.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or higher; minimum 10 years experience as creative director or equivalent, preferably in advertising agency setting, both creating marketing materials and supervising creative development; experience in developing long-range multimedia campaigns essential.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Bachelor’s degree or higher or previous related experience; minimum 10 years experience as creative director or equivalent, preferably in advertising agency setting, both creating marketing materials and supervising creative development; experience in developing multimedia campaigns, video production, web/print experience essential.

Additional Technical Requirements

Basic computer skills:

Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, video and audio production and post-production facilities and procedures.

Extensive understanding of print production process.

Familiarity with Content Management Systems and Web technology.
