Job Summary

The Director of Parking and Transportation will have strategic fiscal and administrative responsibility for the CHOP Enterprise parking and transportation operations. Provides oversight of revenue collection and control, capital improvements, maintenance and cleaning of equipment and property, resource and people management of 13 parking lots.  Work with external vendors, University City Transportation Association, SEPTA and the city to develop solutions to enhance the parking and transportation experience.

Job Responsibilities

  1. The Director of Parking and Transportation will directly supervise the CHOP Parking Manager, CHOP Parking Specialist and the CHOP Administrative Coordinator.  It will indirectly manage the CHOP Buerger Parking Attendants (8 fte’s), Right Sourced Parking Attendants (4 fte’s) the DLC/Reef contracted Parking Manager (1fte), attendants, cashiers (8fte’s) and bus drivers (8fte’s). 
  2. This position will have fiscal responsibility for approximately $5m in budgets and will negotiate and manage approximately 10 contracts. 
  3. This position will manage over 4,000 parking spaces in 13 different locations (some owned, some leased) for approximately 6,000 staff on all shifts and weekends.
  4. This position will be responsible for oversight of the transportation operations for the Roberts Building, Remote Lots and off-hours staff and parent shuttle.
  5. This position will be responsible for parking, transportation, strategy and policy development, review and revision.
  6. This position will have responsibility for hiring decisions, policy enforcement  disciplinary actions, and may require the operation of a vehicle.            

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Valid Driver’s license

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree

 

Required Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing a large health care, university or corporate parking and transportation operation. 

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: MBA

 

Preferred Experience: Ten (10) years of experience managing large health care, university or corporate parking and transportation operation. 

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Experience with and knowledge of PARC Systems.
  • Experience with Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
