Job Summary

Equal parts analyst, technologist, collaborator and communicator, the Data Strategist is passionate about leveraging data and analytics best practices, tools and technologies to support Marketing and broader enterprise goals related to patient/donor acquisition and engagement, and overall patient family experience.

 

The Data Strategist understands business objectives, defines key performance indicators based on those objectives, and provides relevant analysis, insights and recommended actions. The data strategist delivers standard and ad hoc reports in a clear format for a broad business audience to help stakeholders determine opportunities for success. The Strategist will leverage large datasets, both known and unknown, structured and unstructured to surface meaningful insights and trends, benchmark previous behaviors and performance and build predictive models of success.

 

The Data Strategist will help define the digital team’s approach for data collection and use, including systems and processes to aggregate and analyze a variety of online and offline channels including web sites, advertising campaigns, social media, patient portal, appointments and donations.

 

A member of the growing Digital Strategy and Engagement team within CHOP’s Marketing Department, this position reports to the Digital Engagement and Access Manager.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide data and analytics support on initiatives to drive patient and family acquisition, access and engagement and donor acquisition and engagement.
  • Measure and derive insights within CHOP’s Marketing data ecosystem, analyzing engagement and performance data across digital and non-digital mediums.
  • Data sets may include but are not limited to: CRM (Salesforce), Fundraising and Donations, Campaign Data (SEM, Social, Email, Display), Web Analytics (Google Analytics), Mobile Analytics, appointment and scheduling data.
  • Work closely with digital strategists and other colleagues to deliver successful insights and audience recommendations.
  • Interact with large structured and unstructured datasets related to marketing and other business areas.
  • Recommend and implement best practices for tracking digital properties using tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Develop dashboards, reports and compelling visualizations to represent data and insights.
  • Analyze complex issues, identify possible solutions, and present recommendations related to data collection and usage.
  • Collaborate with other members of CHOP’s data community to access, understand and integrate enterprise data.
  • Map large data sets across digital properties as needed, i.e. taxonomies of providers, conditions and treatments.
  • Extract, interpret and effectively communicate data patterns.
  • Develop and maintain best practices around marketing attribution.
  • Build, maintain and present monthly and quarterly reports that measure all aspects of data quality, campaign performance and attribution, program effectiveness, pipeline performance and marketing ROI.
Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science

 

Required Experience:

At least five (5)  years of experience

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Additional Technical Requirements
  • Possess passion for digital analytics and marketing optimization, data technologies and the MarTech space
  • Creative problem solver
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience with tools such as:
  • At least one computer programming language or analytical programming language (R, Python, etc.)
  • BI and Data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, etc.)
  • SQL
  • Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of relational database structures
  • Understanding of data flows, conceptual knowledge of ETL
  • Possess an understanding of OLAP, Data Warehousing, Cluster Analysis, Predictive Modeling
  • Expert ability munging/manipulating data (extraction, cleansing, joining, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience automating data science solutions

  • Strong communication skills to educate and clearly communicate with Marketing colleagues and clients on data science concepts and techniques

  • Demonstrated organization, prioritization, and project coordination skills to work across multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry to effectively hone in on the most relevant data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive successful business strategies is a plus
  • Advanced experience integrating multiple data sources to develop cross-channel insights
  • A thorough understanding of data management platforms (DMP) and the programmatic landscape
  • Experience working with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-party data
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales technology platforms (Salesforce, Journey Builder, Pardot, etc.) a plus
