Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Analyst II (Dashboard Specialist) to join as an integral member of an interdisciplinary and energetic team of injury epidemiologists, data management specialists, data visualization specialists, and health communications experts dedicated to launching the novel New Jersey Safety and Health Outcomes (NJ-SHO) Resource Center. The NJ-SHO Resource Center will meet a critical need among the NJ safety and health communities via (1) creation of a website to disseminate important injury- and safety-related information and (2) development of an online data dashboard that visualizes safety data to guide and evaluate local or statewide solutions to reduce the burden of injures across the state. The innovative data dashboard will interactively display injury data from the unique NJ-SHO warehouse, which currently comprises over 88 million records from 8 linked administrative data sources and has been utilized in over 35 scientific studies (https://injury.research.chop.edu/new-jersey-safety-and-health-outcomes-data-warehouse).

The Data Analyst II will create and maintain content for the data dashboard, including building aggregate relational data tables, constructing data filters and queries, developing data visualizations, and designing reports accessible through the dashboard. In addition, the Analyst will engage and closely collaborate with other study team members to conduct sophisticated analyses of data from the NJ-SHO data warehouse related to safety and health outcomes. This person will provide technical assistance to stakeholders and users of the dashboard by developing training material, FAQs, and other content to facilitate use of the dashboard. This position will work closely with research staff and may assume supervisory responsibilities for research assistants, students, or trainees. The Analyst should have prior experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau). Additional details about this position are available in the accompanying Job Description Addendum.

The Data Analyst II will be directly supervised by the team’s Director of Data Analytics and Director of Data Integration. This position is contingent on grant funding. This dynamic research team includes a mix of remote, in person, and hybrid staff in several locations. We are flexible to applicant’s preferred working arrangements. Interested candidates should submit both a resume and a cover letter that demonstrates their interest in the position and their relevant experience.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST INCLUDE A COVER LETTER WITH THEIR APPLICATION.
