Job Summary

This is a full-time research assistant position offered through The Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness and the Refugee Health Program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. 

Dr. Katherine Yun is seeking a team member with prior experience in health, public health, or health communication focusing on immigrant communities in the United States. The ideal applicant is highly organized, has prior experience with public health research or program evaluation, and has strong interpersonal skills. Experience working in languages other than English (e.g., French, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Pashto, Dari, or Ukrainian) is advantageous. The CRA will work across multiple public health and quality improvement projects under direct supervision of Dr. Yun and team.

Job Responsibilities

Providing technical and clinical support in the conduct of clinical studies:

  • Filing and office organization
  • Patient/research participant scheduling
  • Patient/research participant history
  • Data collection
  • Data entry
  • Data management
  • Laboratory procedures
  • Follow-up care
  • Order materials/supplies
  • Schedule research meetings

 

Research Study Compliance

  • Adhere to an IRB approved protocols
  • Comply with Institutional policies, SOPs and guidelines
  • Comply with federal, state, and sponsor policies
     

Also may be responsible for any of the following:

  • Participate in the informed consent process for study subjects
  • Document and report adverse events
  • Maintain study source documents
  • Submit basic IRB reports
  • Complete case report forms (paper and electronic data capture)

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Associates Degree or active enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree Program

 

Required Experience:  Two (2) years of relevant clinical research experience.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of IRB and human subject protection.

To carry out its mission, it is of critical importance for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to keep our patients, families and workforce safe and healthy and to support the health of our global community. In keeping with this, CHOP has mandated all workforce members on site at any CHOP location for any portion of their time be vaccinated for COVID-19 as a condition of employment.  This mandate also applies to workforce members performing work for CHOP at non-CHOP locations. Additionally, all workforce members based in or regularly scheduled to work at any New Jersey location are mandated to be both vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19, with booster timing consistent with applicable guidelines. In addition, candidates other than those in positions with regularly scheduled hours in New Jersey, must attest to not using tobacco products.
