Job Summary
The Innovation Ecosystem (IE) team is an interdisciplinary, cross-functional team working to further innovation at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia by connecting people to each other and to resources, developing individual and institutional capacity, establishing best practices, and cultivating an innovation-positive culture. We work on a variety of projects ranging from building technology to qualitative research to developing training programs. We are seeking a motivated, independent research assistant to contribute to a number of our projects and generally support operations and execution. This is not a “typical” research lab but rather a group working to apply research and translate ideas into implementation across the organization.
Job Responsibilities
Providing technical and clinical support in the conduct of clinical studies
- Filing and office organization
- Patient/research participant scheduling
- Patient/research participant history
- Data collection
- Data entry
- Data management
- Laboratory procedures
Support core team organization and execution
- Support IE team in program operations, specifically carrying out activities as outlined in project plans
- Collaborating across projects; execute and follow up on tasks as required to support project leads
- Attending regular project working meetings and check-ins, recording minutes and tracking action items
- Collaborate to prepare agendas for bi-weekly Innovation Ecosystem team meetings
- Communicate back to the team, get feedback, ask questions, report out on progress towards milestones
- Supporting supervisor(s) and project leads, as needed
- Develop and maintain online resources for IE team (ex. Mendeley library, shared Google Drive, internal CHOP SharePoint site)

Research Study Compliance
- Adhere to an IRB approved protocols
- Comply with Institutional policies, SOPs and guidelines
- Comply with federal, state, and sponsor policies
May be called upon to
- Consent subjects, with appropriate authorization and training.
- Document and Report adverse events
- Maintain study source documents
- Complete case report forms (paper and electronic data capture)
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations
Required Education and Experience
Required Education: Associates Degree or active enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree Program
Required Experience: One (1) year of relevant clinical research experience.
Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Additional Technical Requirements
- Familiarity with IRB and human subject protection.
