Job Summary

The Center for Management of ADHD and Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids (HMHK) Programs are committed to conducting innovative research, providing interprofessional training, and offering evidence-based clinical services for children and adolescents. A major focus of the research conducted through the Center and HMHK is supporting collaborative relationships among families, schools, and the health system to improve youth outcomes at home and school.


We are seeking a full-time Research Assistant to join our team in July 2019 for at least one year. The Research Assistant will be involved with a comparative effectiveness trial based in pediatric primary care funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). This position provides an exciting opportunity and experience for individuals interested in pursuing advanced graduate degrees in school psychology, clinical psychology, health psychology, or related fields. The Research Assistant’s responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Research Director and Director of School Engagement in developing and maintaining relationships with participating schools
  • Assisting with participant recruitment procedures including conducting telephone screening with families, and meeting with families, school administrators, and teachers to obtain consent and child assent
  • Assisting with data collection, data entry, and data management
  • Meeting all quality assurance and confidentiality guidelines for data collection, and assuring accurate completion of questionnaires and other outcome measures during study visits
  • Creating and managing survey instruments and databases in REDCap and other platforms as needed
  • Maintaining participant engagement in the study through the follow-up period


Qualifications: Experience as a research assistant for clinical research studies preferred. Masters’ degree in psychology or related field preferred. Experience with school collaboration is required. Ability to travel frequently to local primary care practices and schools is required (mileage is reimbursed). Basic knowledge of research design/data analysis and experience with survey and spreadsheet software is preferred. Flexible schedule is needed.

  • Consent subjects, with appropriate authorization and training.
  • Document and Report adverse events
  • Maintain study source documents
  • Complete case report forms (paper and electronic data capture)
Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Associates Degree or active enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree Program


Required Experience:  One (1) year of relevant clinical research experience.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Additional Technical Requirements
  • Familiarity with IRB and human subject protection.
