The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technologist has recording, circulating, and scrubbing responsibilities for diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.

Job Responsibilities


  1. Circulator Role:
  • Operates Point of Care instruments.
  • Gathers procedure supplies, catheters, wires, etc.
  • Operates equipment need for procedure, Injector, ICE, IVUS, Oxygen Consumption unit, etc.
  • Prepares lab samples to be sent.
  • Preps patients.
  • Applies pressure dressing.


  1. Scrub Role:
  • Sets up sterile field.
  • Assists cardiologist with the procedure at the sterile field.
  • Preps patients.
  • Assists with hemostasis after line pull.
  • Holds pressure.


  1. Recorder Role:
  • Documents all activities.
  • Maintains log of procedure.
  • Calls report to receiving unit.
  • Transfers images to archival system.
  • Burns angio CDs, when needed.

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Graduation from an accredited radiologic or cardiovascular school. According to the CMS (Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services) a copy of diploma or transcript is required as proof of academic achievement for all non-laboratory personnel performing non-waived POC testing.


Required Experience: Minimum (one) 1 year interventional radiology experience, if Radiographer.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: Bachelors

Additional Technical Requirements
  • Good organizational, computer, and communication skills.
  • Strong interest in technology.
