Job Summary

The Revenue Cycle Manager provides leadership and oversight of assigned sections within the Office of Patient Accounts (OPA).  Major responsibilities include oversight and management of assigned revenue cycle operations for a surgical practice; management and development of staff; implementation of policies and procedures; and, development of strong and collaborative professional relationships with clinical division managers, with peer managers within OPA, and with key stakeholders throughout the enterprise. Reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle and Finance.

 

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned revenue cycle processes including but not limited to: denied claims, no response claims, payer claim projects, and underpayment analysis.
  • Manage staff, including but not limited to recruitment, completing annual evaluations, managing human resource issues, hosting team meetings, mentoring staff and providing career development opportunities and providing leadership during times of change.
  • Analyze patient accounts receivable on an ongoing basis to: identify opportunities to improve workflow and processes; ensure optimal distribution of work among staff; identify trends in payer reimbursement.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to clinical division managers concerning claim and denial management, revenue cycle best practices, emergent claim processing issues, and high-priority requests.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for revenue cycle processes
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with insurance network representatives to prioritize timely resolution of outstanding claim issues.
  • Project work including participating on hospital committees, developing improvement plans, etc.
Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
 

Required Experience:

Five years of healthcare experience with demonstrated management responsibilities. 

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

 

Preferred Education: Masters preferred. Degree in Healthcare Management or Business preferred.

 

Preferred Experience: Significant leadership experience.

Additional Technical Requirements
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data. 
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving planning, organizing and decision making. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with clinical and administrative staff, patients and the public. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical coding, compliance and health insurances as well as billing, reimbursement requirements and government regulations as related to healthcare organizations.
