Job Summary

The Associate Director is responsible for driving the Department’s efforts toward “proactive Corporate suspecting”.  Her/his principal focus will be on mining all of the incoming sources at the Department’s disposal to search for new Corporate suspects to be presented to the fundraising teams for review and possible assignment.  This person will be considered a Team Leader for overseeing the influx of Corporate suspects into the CHOP Enterprise, as well as to explore new sources for names.  She/he will conduct in-depth research for Hospital Leadership; Foundation Leadership; and fundraisers as assigned.  Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Job Responsibilities

The identification and assessment of the interest and giving ability of prospective and current corporate funders to help grow the general private revenue pipeline specific to Institutional Events and Fundraising.  Using traditional and innovative industry tools and sources:

•     Focus on corporate funders at the transformational level ($1m and up)

•     Identify prospective corporate funders for specific initiatives or programs

•     Identify prospective corporate funders regionally, nationally and internationally

•     Act as a thought partner and resource for developing prospect management and cultivation plans specific to the IEF team

•     Help to drive policy and education regarding prospecting for IEF, using traditional research tools, vendor-related tools, and social media

•     Serve as the main contact and the first-line of support for all Prospect Development-related activities around the Corporate Council

•     Oversee Potential Prospect Review (PPR) program

•     Proactive in the discovery of potential relationships with C-Suite individuals via sources such as Relationship Science, and other vehicles such as social media, to identify “anchor” executives at target corporations.

•     Under direction of the Director of Prospect Development and in conjunction with the Prospect Analyst, provide dynamic and strategic portfolio guidance to the IEF team via the expectancy scoring process and traditional moves management practices for corporate funders.

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree

 

Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the field of Prospect Development
