Job Summary

The Respiratory Supervisor, with guidance from the Director and Manager of the Department of Respiratory Care Services and in conjunction with the Clinical Respiratory Specialists, carries out the supervision and clinical coordination of all respiratory care practitioners and directs the day-to-day operation of the department. The Respiratory Supervisor practices at the level of a proficient-to-expert practitioner of respiratory care. The Respiratory Supervisor demonstrates expertise in caring for patients with multiple and complex problems. In addition to demonstrating clinical leadership, the Supervisor serves as a resource and consultant to staff and participates in endeavors to increase respiratory care knowledge.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

RRT - Regist Resp Therapist Cert
NPS - NPS-Respiratory Cert
PA Respiratory Care License
BLS - Basic Life Support

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Successful completion of, or enrollment in, a course of study, which results in a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. According to the CMS (Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services) a copy of diploma or transcript is required as proof of academic achievement for all non-laboratory personnel performing non-waived POC testing


Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of respiratory care.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the care of neonatal/pediatric patients.
  • Successfully worked as a Respiratory Therapist IV.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: Masters degree.

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Ability to provide basic respiratory care to children.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
