Job Summary

The Senior Director of Nursing for King of Prussia Hospital will provide strategic leadership to staff in all areas of responsibility in order to assure delivery of safe, efficient, cost effective, clinical care to patient/families at King of Prussia Hospital.  The Senior Director of Nursing for King of Prussia Hospital is responsible for operations throughout the hospital in order to match nursing resources to patient needs, ensuring high quality patient care. The Senior Director works in collaboration with other Nursing Directors and Nurse Managers to develop and sustain clinical and operational models. He/She relies on strong clinical knowledge to support professional nursing practice.  He/She will develop and maintain collaborative interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships locally and throughout the entire health system.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a capable nursing leadership team that is accountable for coordinated and efficient day-to-day operations throughout the King of Prussia Hospital.
  • Represents KOPH nursing in forums related to clinical outcomes, staff engagement, and patient family experience. 
  • Collaborates with Nursing and Clinical Care Services leaders to continually assess and provide strategic direction to meet projected expansion plans, projected volumes, and resource needs. 
  • Implements and monitors quality improvement data to improve patient care outcomes
  • Participates in Budget planning for King of Prussia Hospital for areas of responsibility and ensures financial stewardship with allocated resources
  • Lead or support departmental, and/or organizational initiatives as requested in a manner that ensures continual focus on consumer needs and organizational priorities. 
  • Maintain knowledge base related to evidence based practices, with particular attention to patient population growth
  • Aligns and ensures compliance to State Regulations of PA

Required Education and Experience

Required Education:  BSN and a Master’s degree.

Required Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive nursing experience.

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills with Physicians, Nurse Managers, Senior Leadership and all employees at all levels. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships,
  • Prior experience with tracking data and management of departmental performance measures.
  • Proficiency with computer applications; including email, outlook, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, and demonstrated ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement IT systems to support centralized staffing.
