Job Summary

The SWAT nurse is a highly skilled, highly trained experienced operating room nurse who provides support to both the ASCs and the main operating room.  The SWAT nurse is able to function independently to provide safe, quality and clinically competent care.  The SWAT nurse is able to plan, implement, evaluate and document care that is in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.  This position will rotate between the operating rooms at the Philadelphia Hospital, Brandywine Ambulatory Surgical Center, and Voorhees Ambulatory Surgical Center.  A PA and NJ RN license is required.  This position requires two (2) years of operating room RN experience. This opportunity is open for both Full Time and Part Time Applicants.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Registered Nursing License or active Temporary Practice Permit in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania AND State of New Jersey. If practicing with an active temporary practice permit, obtains an RN license prior to the expiration of the practice permit
CPR Certification issued through an organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross)

Required Education and Experience

Required Education:

  • Nursing Diploma
  • According to the CMS (Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services) a copy of diploma or transcript is required as proof of academic achievement for all non-laboratory personnel performing non-waived POC testing


Required Experience:                                                                                                                    

  • Two (2) years of operating room experience

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: BSN
