Information Services at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) maintains hundreds of applications that keep the Hospital and its network connected. These include an electronic medical record system, telecommunications, datacenters, support and maintenance of thousands of PCs and mobile devices, and much more. Information Services is also responsible for information security, which maintains the confidentiality, integrity and availability of patient and institutional information.

The analysts, developers, engineers and other Information Services staff partner closely with healthcare providers, researchers and administrators. The singular goal of that partnership is to improve care.

All Information Services employees at CHOP fall within one of 24 career paths covering technology services, database services, information security, business operations and more. These paths were developed in part to create an organizational structure that provides a framework for both horizontal and vertical career progression. Information Services also offers a co-op/intern program for college or graduate students currently enrolled in an accredited college. Co-op and intern opportunities are posted in spring and fall.
